We recommend setting aside a regular time and place each day to read God’s Word and to pray. You might like to choose the same time and place for your time with God to help develop consistency. Consider booking the time in your diary, just as you would any other meeting, so the time doesn’t get squeezed.
Find a time when you won’t be interrupted and can stay focussed. This may be before your kids wake up, when you get into bed at night, in your office before work, or on your morning commute.
Start with just 10 minutes and give yourself grace when you miss a day or struggle to focus. It’s about developing a relationship with God, not strict rule-following.
Devotionals:
Short, encouraging, and sometimes challenging reflections on the Bible.
General Studies:
Helpful notes and questions to help you study the Bible. Great for when you have 10 minutes or more.
Bible-in-a-year:
Reading plans that tell you what to read each day. Stick with it, and you will finish the whole Bible in one year.
Start by committing your time to God and praying he would speak to you through his Word. Finish by praying God would help you to apply the truth from his Word to your life today. See the back of this sheet for more tips on how to pray.
